Well it does not seem to matter where you are, when winter strikes it gets cold. Las Vegas has finally dropped to below the UK and currently what we call in the trade bl**dy freezing. nights are down to zero and days not much more than 5 degrees.

So what does that mean to people so use to coming here in the height of Summer and it being 40 Degrees outside?

Well a lot less time at the pool and a lot more time indoors. So all the more of an excuse to spend more time at the table playing cash or tournaments.

We have been playing a lot of tournaments lately with varying degrees of success. Patience is a virtue, unfortunatley something I don't have a lot of. My trick is to play to the Breaks, make sure you don't go silly or gung-ho just before or just after. when I get knocked out thats when it usually is. not concentrating fully,  over confident on your hand and bam you're out. But the few times I have managed to stay both alert and awake (especially in the early hours) I have had 3 second place and 5 thirds. Earning a very respectable kitty for more gambling.

Still my personal favourite is the Bellagio, but tour vegas and some great poker can be found at "locals casinos" Stations, Green Valley Ranch and more upmarket Red Rock. Boyd's Orleans has a huge poker room. The Wynn and and my forbidden secret Aria. But most of them have great poker day or night cash games and 3-4 hour tournaments. Reasonable buyins in the $100-$200 range and first places over the $1000 mark. When you feel really brave you can buy into the bigger games with the blinds starting $1000-$2000 Don't be star struck to see the pro's sitting there. They are still human. I have even managed to take out a table of them.

Obviously Vegas being vegas there is a lot more to do than Gamble. So many shows great restaurants and some pretty decent bars and clubs with a Saturday night usually spend celeb spotting or dodging which ever is your forte. With the Boy's there are many Gentleman's clubs to choose from all have one thing in common. You will spend more money in here than a casino. You have been warned. For the women many male strip acts. I have been told Thunder down under is a a good one.

So for any of you nice members dont want to see the family over Christmas or fancy hitting the best party month in town book the flights and come on over You never know you may enjoy it.
